SUSPENDED NATURE
20.06. - 19.07.2025
Isabel Momparler, Robert Branch & Pilar García

The exhibition "Suspended Nature" brings together the works of three national artists—Isabel Momparler, Robert Branch, and Pilar García—in an exploration of the natural: the existing, the underlying, the original... approached through abstraction and subtlety expressed in painting and sculpture.

With their works, and each in their own way, these three artists take nature, remove it from its context, suspend it in a timeless void, and invite us to appreciate it in its full truth. Like pausing time while a leaf is blown by the wind, they allow us to draw near and observe its form, its color, its texture, how the light rests on it—and the impossibility of its permanence.

Valencian artist Isabel Momparler approaches the theme through a play of colors and textures. Inspired by natural and oriental elements that stand out against diffused backgrounds, her works present unique settings where images float between reality and dreamlike states.

Sculptor Robert Branch, on the other hand, delves into the duality of the natural from a more universal and cosmological perspective. His pieces interact with space and emptiness, floating within it while also piercing and traversing it. Exploring the boundaries of presence and absence, his figures create fictional cosmic landscapes that “weigh nothing, the breeze moves them, they occupy space in the mind.”

The exhibition is rounded out by the works of Pilar García, a series of abstract portraits in which the subjects act merely as conduits reflecting the artist’s inner world. In her paintings, suspension is temporal, capturing moments of reflection on the human condition and the inevitability of becoming.

Together, the three artists weave a thread of meaning that connects us to nature through different perspectives that converse, intertwine, and mirror one another. As a result, Suspended Nature becomes a reflection, steeped in subtlety, on the truth of who we are, what surrounds us, and what contains us.
