ELIO JESÚS

Elio Jesús is a visual artist whose work explores the fragility of human nature. He graduated from the Vicentina de la Torre Academy of Arts in Camagüey, Cuba, in 2014, and later from the University of the Arts (ISA) in Havana, Cuba, in 2019. With over 10 years of experience as a visual artist and creative professional, Elio has exhibited his work in numerous exhibitions, including the 6th London Art Biennale, UK (2023); the 17th Arte Laguna Prize, Venice, Italy (2023); Mexico City Contemporary Art Week, Mexico (2020); ARCO Fair, Madrid, Spain (2020); and the 13th Havana Biennial, Cuba (2019).
His recent solo exhibitions include Exposition Dialogue at the Brownstone Foundation, Paris, France (2024); Vestiges and Hallucinations at the Archaeological Museum of Cehegín, Murcia (2024); Remains of the Day at Galería Taller Gorría, Havana (2023); and Other Ways of Returning at the Tomás y Valiente Art Center, Madrid (2022).
He has also been the recipient of several awards and grants, including the Royal Mint (RCM-FNMT) Fellowship, Madrid (2023); the Young Art Fund Creation Grant, Havana (2024); and the Académie des Beaux-Arts – Bernard Grau Foundation Grant, Paris (2024).
He is currently completing a Master's in Printmaking and Graphic Design at the Royal Mint School (RCM-FNMT) while working at Taller Del Prado in Madrid.
